#9 - How to remove ponding water from roofs

OVERVIEW:
If water is allowed to remain or pond on a roof it can destroy the roof membrane and flashings within a few short years. One inch of water adds about 6 pounds per square foot of weight to a roof structure. This can add undue stress to a roof assembly and together with snow and ice loads, can keep the roof structure stressed with a lot of weight for much of the year.

Some roof insulations can also collapse over time when stressed with the weight of continual ponding water. As the insulation collapses, the water becomes deeper and worsens the problem.

This course is ideal for Maintenance Workers, Roofing Consultants, Facility Managers, Roofing Contractors, Engineers , Building Owners, and anyone else responsible with maintaining a roof in a safe and dry condition.

Length of course: 1 to 1.5 hours.
