#1 - How to conduct a good roof inspection

This training course is designed for buildings with single ply, modified bitumen, and builtup roofs. Each section begins with a description of each of the three types of roof systems and explains the various configurations and colors that these roofs can be assembled in. There is a Roof Information Form included which you can download and use or modify for cataloguing your inspections.

We show the equipment and materials needed to conduct the inspection and the safety precautions that should be taken to insure that you arrive safely back on the ground. We also share our tips and tricks used over the years to identify roof defects and find where water is getting into the roof system. The roofing knowledge you get from this course will equip you to be a more professional roof inspector and assist you in tracking down and repairing roof leaks.

This course is ideal for Maintenance Workers, Roofing Consultants, Roofing Contractors, Engineers, Engineering Technicians, Quality Assurance Inspectors, and anyone else who is responsible for keeping buildings watertight. If you plan on conducting roof core testing as part of your roof inspection you may want to also take course #2 (How to core test commercial roofs.)

Length of course: 1 to 2 hours.
